Discover Beauty with Vanity Trove

I recently told you about the changes at Vanity Trove.... My recent post about the new VT concept...

How the Beautiful Surprises of Vanity Trove have now been transformed into a wonderful platform to Discover Beauty.  Yeah, such a fabulous concept idea...now you can 'choose your own' samples as and when you like and discover the beautiful things in life for yourself.  Add to that it's delivered with care and speed and all your goodies come inside the most glamorous of boxes xx :-) Ah, yes, I'm loving it!!

Here, now, I'm going to post in more detail exactly what I chose from my sample choices, the cost and what I think about the products I received.

Love More - Japanese Soy Milk Enzyme Moisturising & Smoothing mask - this mask promises to rapidly help improve skin clarity and fight against aging.  1 mask

SpectraBan Sunscreen for Sensitive Skin - an anti-UVA & UVB, PA++ SPF30 and it's waterproof.  20g sample.

My bonus goodies were :-

Kérastase Elixir Ultime and

Huiji Fruity Delight slimming tea.

All in all very happy with my second box and particularly looking forward to trying the Love More mask and seeing if the Cyber Colors Mascara really is waterproof and smudge-less :-)

So, now I come to box number 3.  I mentioned in my earlier post about the changes to VT which meant I had some Vanity Tab points/dollars stacked up and, these do have an expiry date.  So, I was left with $15.00 to spend.  Luckily I spotted a special Trove for guys and thought I'd order this to check out what Vanity Trove were offering the gorgeous boys of Singapore...

To start, the box design is perhaps a little more masculine (colour and overture are different).  What's inside this 'Vanity Trove - Men's Folio Edition'?...

GATSBY products - 6 Gatsby products to be exact...

Facial Paper - removes oiliness and dirt on-the-go.  Removes stickiness from the face and prevents acne spots.  5 wipes sample size pack

Deodorant Body Paper - Ice-Type - There's no English on the pack but I'm guessing they are deodorant wipes that are another on-the-go product and ideal for your guy to slip in his bag for those quick fretting up moments when the Singapore heat gets a little too sweaty :-) 3 wipes sample size pack

Facial Wash (actually 3 different facial washes) -

...Nano Million Scrub - Ultra Pore Cleanser that unclogs pores with micro beads.  50g

...Perfect Scrub - for shire free and smooth skin, it promises to thoroughly remove oil and dirt.  50g

...Acne Care Foam - reduces oil and skin's redness and kills acne causing bacteria.  50g

Super Hard Hair Styling Gel - a super-strong and super-lasting hair gel - it says it's non-sticky, long lasting for a hard look and is resistant to perspiration and humidity.

Alright, OK, not going to be trying out the GATSBY 'guys Trove' myself but I think it makes it a pretty nice gift or is ideal for your Mr Man's business trip.  I'll probably let my eldest son loose in the box of GATSBY products...he's still at that age where a wash or shower seems like a really unlikely event (yep, he's obviously not old enough to notice girls yet :-))

Check out the Beauty Profiles of the VT beauties...

Rocket Science with VanityTrove

You don't need to be a rocket scientist to be beautiful...all you need is VanityTrove in your corner ;-)

Just look at this amazing trove of 'beautiful surprises'...could the fabulous VT Team fit any more in that pretty box? I do not think so ;-)

August edition of VanityTrove

My favourites and what I'm going to be testing first are...:-

Morilins organic facial therapy mask for 'brightening and tightening'...I've said loads how much I love a face mask - 'my time' of 10-15 mins of hiding away allowing the mask to 'do it's work' ;-) ah, heaven!

Origins anti-ageing serum and anti-aging cleanser...Life puts the wrinkles in. Now nature helps take them out. ;-) love it! I'm actually 'seriously' concerned with my 'not so fine lines'...my time in 'dry' England didn't help (yep, the air is dry and drying, even though it's raining constantly! :-). So any one thing that can promise decreasing my creases gets a thumbs up from me. I'll let you know how I go, although the trial size is probably not enough to help me in my hour of need :-(

Neutrogena deep clean mulberry foaming scrub...I'd actually seen this in Her World as an advert and thought 'yep, I'd like to try that'...now I can! Don't you just love VanityTrove for being one step ahead ;-)

I'm not over excited by these:-

Scottish Fine Soaps body milk...the scent is a 'wee' bit grandma-ish ;-)

Oxypad oxygen sanitary pad...erm, I'll try it though :-/

Vita-C natural powder with an antioxidant and brightening effect...could be the odd translation issue from Chinese to English but I'm not 'entirely' sure how to use ;-) I'll give it a go and see what "10 minutes after degree elapsing it sleeps rightly" actually means :-D

not great translation :-D

What else is there:-

Majolica Mojorca eye reset gel...eye make-up remover,

Bioré...gel eye make-up remover,

Brands inner shine drinks x2 (grapeseed extract 50ml and prune essence 42ml) these tasty treats are promising youthful and radiant skin,

Skin79 super BB cream...whitening, wrinkle improvement and SPF25...yet another BB cream hits the stores ;-)

Sampar x3 products - poreless magic peel, equalising foam peel and 'glamour shot'...so Sampar Paris is currently getting loads of hype and of course I'm excited to give these a try ;-)

Vouchers:-

Erabelle erabrow design at $18 (u.p. $29) and free long lasting eyebrow pencil.

15% off at Zalora.sg. Erm, now I'm not sure...I've heard some bad reviews about Zalora but I shall give it a try as there are some v.pretty pumps I'm sure I 'need'...just hope the correct size is shipped to me and before they go out of fashion... ;-)

Well there you are go, all in all I am very happy with my August edition of VanityTrove ;-) if you'd like to subscribe and get your pretty paws on their September edition 'Fall in Love' go HERE NOW...xx ;-)

One last thing...Her World Singapore August edition has a feature which VanityTrove lovers or those wanting to learn more about VanityTrove may well be interested in...(page 251 to be exact xx ;-))

VanityTrove founders and the team are really doing a fabulous job xx ;-)

I'm off now to lock myself away from 'life' (for a little while) and do some serious testing and reviewing...will my 'not so excited by' products end up as my faves?

Do you subscribe to VanityTrove or any other beauty boxes?

Which 'try before you buy' beauty boxes do you recommend?

What did you discover which has become your favourite beauty product?

Beautiful Surprises pour moi...

I absolutely adore receiving my 'Trove' of Beautiful Surprises each month...who could not smile at this perfect package appearing on their doorstep every 22nd of the month :-)

I was such a lucky girl this month and received an extra 'Trove' which was the 'Belle edition de Mai' ;-)  I promised to review and give my 'honest' opinion...here goes...

Starting with the Gatineau products :- DefiLift 3D with 'Bodufix', Aquamemory moisture replenish eye care and Strategie Jeunesse intensive treatment for eye area...

I have to totally admit that the 'Bodufix' kind of got me excited :-)  Anything that promises to help with these 'ever-appearing' fine (sometimes not so fine) lines gets a massive smile from me!  The scent is perfect, very mild.  The texture is smooth and creamy and does not leave a 'sticky-ness' as some 'fine line' creams seem to do.  I'm actually hoping to get myself a huge jar of this in duty free!  Of course, I cannot comment on the effects as, with all of these such products, it requires some weeks of usage to see the 'remarkable change'...when I have purchased my 'duty free jar' I shall get back to you with the 'changes' I see xx ;-)

The eye treatments, again, are a perfect product for me to try...right now I'm preparing baggage, schedules and generally 'trying' to make my way down my 'to do' list so...my sleep is being disturbed and, yes, I have massive dark-ness and puffy-ness under my eyes.  These little compresses 'ouzing' with serum are super.  Again, not at all sticky and actually made me relax for the necessary 10 mins (I think I will try popping these little beauties in the fridge for the next time I use ;-))  I did, honestly, see a little difference even if it was simply the fact that I was 'forced' to lay down and relax with this product xx ;-)

eye care replenish product...(dehydrated skin)...ah yes, around my eyes do become a 'lot' dehydrated, OK, I know the white wine I drink does not help my 'fine lines' and skin elasticity so a product that can counter-balance the effects of white wine definitely gets a smile from me xx ;-)  en plus, the texture is not at all greasy and left my eye area extremely smooth and 'a little' more hydrated.  I guess you get to a 'certain' age and realise 'eye cream' is the way forward :-D

Les produit de Payot up next...Démaquillant - eyes and lips, Tonique purifiant, Lotion essentielle, 'so pure' balancing and purifying serum and 'hydrofluide' hydrating activator serum...

So, these products are the absolute perfect size to pop in my carry on bag for the air plane!  So, that is exactly what I shall be doing...I'm leaving my 'beautiful Singapore' tomorrow evening and heading to 'dreary 'n' wet' (although totally family and friend filled) UK for the annual 'summer' holidays.  I shall be giving my full review and no doubt fighting the jet-lag the next time I log on...to blog on...

A trés bientôt,
kisses 'n' smiles from me xx :-)

OK, so I received this May edition of VanityTrove completely free of charge from the beautiful VTeam but hey! my review is totally honest xx :-)

Beautiful Surprises 'n' tiny diamonds...

I've had my box of Beautiful Surprises sat on my dressing table for quite some time now!  Well, not exactly just sat...I have been using the products and adoring the scent too ;-)

The VanityTrove April edition was another fab 'n' beautiful box...what did I get?

Braphy Lip Plumper - this little lip gloss totally made me smile...it comes with a tiny mirror attached especially for those who can't find their lips :-D  I laugh but yes, I can never put gloss or colour on without a mirror ;-)

Braphy
is a cosmetic brand made in Taiwan

Braphy Eye Liner - I don't actually use 'much' eye make-up...but, I shall start and give this little liner a try.  It does seem easy to use and 'even I' should be able to make a pretty good job of applying it ;-)

Biotherm White D-Tox - apparently it shall give my face an instantly bright look...that promise alone is enough to make me smile ;-)  I've not actually used it yet but, will try it out and hope to report my brightness!  I'm not really into the whole whitening product thing - preferring a little colour in my cheeks actually ;-)

Style Aromatherapy Hair Moisturiser - now, this is my favourite ;-)  I have very long, very thick hair and it really isn't in the best condition due to chlorine, sun damage, heat damage (straighteners) and generally not getting it 'trimmed' often enough.  This product though is making my hair worth smiling about and I totally will be buying again and using my S$2.00 off voucher in Guardian...yay!  love it ;-)

Masego Safari Spa voucher and Cappu Spa Polish - I'm not really much of a spa kind of girl but may well have to make an exception for this!  The 'coffee scrub' smells divine ;-) and the texture is lovely.  Can I only buy this at the Spa?

Finally, but equally as 'beautiful' is the Filthy Farm Girl - Filthy Pussy Soap - I received mint-rose and really the scent is absolutely gorgeous.  I didn't put it to the test in the shower yet but if the scent alone is anything to go by it will be another fab product from VanityTrove.

I also have to share my B*Dazzle experience!  Whilst on a little coffee morning turned retail therapy day, my friend pointed out this store in both Wizma, Orchard Road and Raffles City Mall.  I became pretty excited ;-)  Previously I got the very top of my right ear pierced and over time it healed up...I've been wanting it re-doing again for years actually.  So, couldn't wait to jump in the seat and get this perfect tiny diamond 'popped' into my ear ;-)  smiling, smiling and not a single bit of pain afterwards.

Excellent service, quick and 'relatively' pain free ;-)  I was given 2 bottles of 'ear care solution' to use morning and evening to ensure the piercing is kept infection free.  Also a check up for a week later to be sure all is well.  Definitely made me smile ;-)

So, now I pack and get ready to leave for a romantic 'stay-cation' with Mr Man...my early Birthday treat.

kisses 'n' smiles from me xx ;-)

Astalift - Singapore 'n' Paris

I recently discovered Astalift with thanks to VanityTrove, and their pretty packaged and beautiful scented products have been making me smile ever since.

Early post re VanityTrove 'n' Astalift workshop...HERE

I've loved trying out all of the Astalift products and liked everything so much that I decided to discover the Astalift 'flagship' store in The Centrepoint on Orchard Road, Singapore...oh, and buy a couple of bits 'n' bobs ;-)

I was looked after in store by Xue Fen who helped me choose just the right products for me.  I was lucky enough to have a 20% discount card (given to me at the workshop) so this was a great excuse to splash out a bit on some fab products.  After purchase I was invited to try out the 2 collagen drinks...honestly, I was not really 'into' this kind of thing but appreciated the trial.  On trying, I was quite surprised and actually liked the flavour.  I've got a couple of bottles in the fridge still to drink and do think I see a difference so am thinking of making a purchase...anyone who knows me personally will know I joke about me enjoying a 'liquid diet' :-D so these suit me fine ;-)

My Beauty Adviser, Xue Fen, also did a skin analysis for me...I was not too shocked by the results 'losing elasticity' and 'a little dull' - yes, yes, I'm over 30 so these things happen ;-)  Luckily though, Astalift 'seem' to have everything I need to help with this...the smile lines may yet disappear ;-)

The Astalift store in Singapore is nothing too special from the outside so I am sharing with you these photographs of their very 'chic' looking store in Paris, France...

Pics courtesy of my French friend P, merci ;-)

French friend didn't get the opportunity to 'trial some testers' from the Paris store so I've sent her some goodies from the Astalift and VanityTrove girls here in Singapore...I'll get her thoughts on these products and post about these later - I hope she enjoys them as much as I did ;-)

Now then, does Astalift exist in the UK...more particularly, 'up t' North'?  I'm hoping to find out via my blogging inspiration Mel ;-)

I'm off now to think about 'colour -v- color' ... and 'blondes having fun' -v- 'the power of red'

kisses 'n' smiles from me xx ;-)

Titanic - real objects 'n' real stories

The ArtScience Museum at Marina Bay Sands has been hosting the Titanic artifacts exhibition since end October 2011 (it runs until the 29th April 2012)

Anyway, I have been so wanting to see this but my Mr Man had decided he 'would not like it'.  As he was away all last week and I am still not allowed a 'champagne brunch' (until lent is over at least), Mr Man suggested he treat me to Titanic :-)

Absolutely, fantastic exhibition :-)  Very interesting and easy to follow, my boys loved it too.  For my boys, the 'best bit' was the 'actual' ice berg and the outside promenade.  For me, it was the little snippets and stories about the 'real people' who travelled on Titanic.  Perhaps a little 'dark' but I loved the fact that every visitor got a replica of a boarding ticket along with the name and info relating to that person...at the end you need to check if you survived the disaster.

My Mr Man and my boys were first class gentlemen :-)  Me, I was a third class passenger, 15 years old from Lebanon, travelling along with my husband who was a wealthy shoe merchant (perhaps the 1912 Jimmy Choo!? ;-))
1912 Jimmy Choos :-D

It was the first time we had visited the ArtScience Museum.  Of course, we've all seen it from a distance and marvelled at the white lotus flower style structure but up close (for me personally) it doesn't look quite as impressive.  Queueing 'n' purchasing ticket service leaves a lot to be desired...I always wonder what can be so difficult and cause a debate when simply purchasing entrance tickets.  If you can remain calm in the queue then the exhibits and interior are definitely worth seeing.

Surprise, surprise...on Sunday evening, we watched Titanic the movie from start to finish...all 4 hours of it!  It's easy to see why it won 11 Oscars, fabulous :-)  For me, I never tire of seeing Jack 'n' Rose fall so passionately in love...and Céline Dion never fails to make me sniffle 'n' sob!

Gorgeous Leo xx

I highly recommend the Titanic exhibition.  Something else I'm forever recommending is BellaBox but...!  I've now discovered 'Vanity Trove' and I shall be sampling their box of beautiful surprises very soon :-)  I'm also very excited to attend a 'special' SkinInc, Reebonz 'n' Vanity Trove event this week :-)  Can't wait to blog about and share my afternoon here...

The VT beauty box...
so excited to get my March box of beautiful surprises

I'm off now to decide what to wear and get my nails sorted out, they look a bit shabby today!

kisses 'n' smiles from me xx :-)
