SPCA, Personal Assisting 'n' Art...

Monday morning took me to Mount Vernon Road and my little 'job' in the SPCA shelter...

Anyone in Singapore who is thinking of getting a pet... PLEASE, please take at look at the animals up for adoption. There will most certainly be an adorable and perfect, pooch, kitty, bunny or hammy waiting just for you :-)

On Sunday I got myself proper organised for a very 'arty' day...

How many Mums intend to, and love the idea of, a day doing arty stuff with the kids...what happens, we need to tidy round, clear a space and dig out paper and paints. That's happened to me since forever!
finally organised...let the messy time begin :-)

Me and my boys had loads of fun creating 'n' crafting and now have a permanent art station (table) on the balcony...yes, we shall be creating some masterpieces 'n' having lots of fun too ;-)

To be perfectly honest, for a few days over the weekend I didn't feel much like smiling. I'd had my feathers well and truly ruffled by a certain individual :-(

Ruffled feathers to fit my mood :-/

I hate conflict and am generally the person that really avoids it all but 'some people' like a bit of a good old conflict and actually thrive on the attention it involves ;-) I'm for sure not going into the 'histoire' but heck I was annoyed! Anyway, for now it's time for a spot of SUMO :-D and I'll get back to life, fun 'n' smiling... :-)

Once again, Mr Man is away and to keep myself busy this week...I've got myself started on some course work assessments. ICS Personal Assistant course to be exact. The whole concept of the correspondence course is excellent, making it easy to study from home wherever your home may be.

My dream PA job - all the clothes 'n' shoes ;-)

This is my third course with the International Correspondence School and this one has started off very interesting and pretty straight forward...mainly common sense stuff which I'm pleased to say I have a lot of :-). Today's topics...the role of the PA, office equipment and behaviour in the office 'tact and diplomacy'!

Love that - tact and diplomacy...yep, I've got that sorted too :-)

Ah well, it's good to be smiling again...you can't beat a bit of Skype with friends 'n' family to put life back on track :-))

kisses 'n' smiles from me xx :-)

VIPs in Penang 'n' extra stuff...

A little change from my usual 'all about me 'n' Singapore' blog...talking about someone 'n' somewhere else :-)

My parents-in-law broke up their stay in Singapore with a short break in Penang, Malaysia. They chose to stay in town rather than by the beach.  Their stay at at the George Town Traders Hotel with the extra 'lux' of The Traders Club meant their stay truly was perfect and a real VIP experience right from the moment of check-in. Of course, they loved it and its highly recommended...it does sound fantastic and I can't wait to try it with my 3 men.

Guests of the Hotel can 'utilize' the facilities at the Traders’s sister property at Batu Feringgi Beach via regular shuttle, so if the sea 'n' sand is your thing then the hotel in the town can still work for you.

My Parents-in-Law no matter what country they are in, near or far, like to sample the local transport and found the buses in Penang easy and cheap to get around.  Here's a few pics of the transport and some of the touristy stuff they saw...

I'll leave Malaysia now but will follow up this 'change in blog style' with a little tour of Australia when I get the travel tales from my parents...

I'm off now but leave you with a couple of bits 'n' bobs to look forward to in near future blogs...

smiling as the Lunar New Year preparations are in full bloom...lion dances and dragon festivals will be a dozen a day daily event :-)

not smiling, but more ranting, that folk are carrying out their annual spring clean and deciding they no longer need a pet (or maybe just not an 'out of date' pet)...some people!  I have no tolerance for them!  The SPCA are, and will continue to be, inundated with 'strays 'n' surrenders' during this festive season :-(

On a more smiley note, I'm going to finally enjoy the opening ceremony of my January BellaBox :-)

Kisses 'n' smiles from me xx :-)

wonderful, wonderful Wicked of Oz

Absolutely fabulous :-) My boys, my Mr Man 'n' I sooooo enjoyed Wicked the Musical at the Marina Bay Sands Theatre...

Of course, in true 'me style' we were 'running' (quite literally) late. A quick dash through the Marina Bay Sands, dodging folk through the Shoppes and finally, breathlessly collecting our pre-booked tickets from the box office. In very not 'like me style', everything went smoothly with collection and we got to our seats with 10 minutes to spare...phew :-)

I love a show and especially a musical and was very much not disappointed by Wicked...it was wicked ! :-) the story worked great, and linked straight into the original Oz movie. Those of my readers in Singapore, I say "go catch it while you got the chance"!  Before booking tickets I was unsure of the suitability for my kids, but, my boys aged 8 and 10 years totally enjoyed it :-) :-)

Marina Bay Sands...the resort, the complex, the experience...whatever you call it! Really is so out of this world...I'm calling it 'Dubai-esque' :-) fabulously over the top in grandeur 'n' spendeur!  fab :-)

I'm off now to eat some French cheese with, fresh out of the oven, bread and drink a glass of Argentinian Wine :-) SPCA 'n' gym tomorrow ;-)

SPCA, Wicked 'n' Christmas ideas

This week I'm smiling because I started my training for reception work at the SPCA animal shelter.  I felt very much like the new girl on her first day at school but everyone is very friendly, helpful and, of course, we are all animal lovers so I'm going to be in good company.

http://www.spca.org.sg/
There is just one major problem which I'm going to come up against - this is to not allow myself to bring home random animals who might be available for adoption...Mr Man has put me under strict orders to keep our home to just one dog - but we'll see ;-)

Wicked the musical...who's seen it?  What do you think? Could my kids see it?  More importantly, will it make me smile? :-)

The show opens here on the 6th December and I'm thinking I might 'need' tickets. Bit pricey, but if it's as good as the reviews say then it will be an excellent show.  I do love a good Broadway musical :-)

If I understand correctly, it's kind of what happened in the land of Oz 'n' wizards before Dorothy arrived. It makes me think to a friend's wall post on Facebook recently...this very much made me giggle and smile ;-)

Holidays are coming, Holidays are coming...oh yes, the decorations are going up all around the city (all around the island actually).  The official light up day is 19th November.  Twinkling festive lights really do make me smile :-)

I love the whole coordinated Christmas tree and decoration thing, and asked my Mr Man for his opinion on my choice of 'orange, gold 'n' blue' for this year...a shrug of his shoulders - he never fails to make me smile :-) anyways, I'm taking that as an approval...

So, writing lists and I'll soon be on my way to Spotlight to buy blue 'n' orange ribbon 'n' tons more blue 'n' orange sparkling Christmas goodies.

kisses 'n' smiles from me xx :-)
